While the visitors ultimately came away with the victory, not too many folks were focused on the final score.

Back in 2016, when Winnipeg last hosted the Heritage Classic, the Jets alumni roster was made up primarily of players from the 1.0 era. This time around, it was the 2.0 version (even though, with the now-blended history, we’re not really supposed to make those distinctions anymore).

For fans, it was a chance to see some of their hockey heroes back on the ice, chant GST one last time or give Dustin Byfuglien a proper sendoff. It ended up being all of that a whole lot more.

Here are some of the sights from Saturday night’s Alumni game as the Jets and Canadiens turned back the clock for a memorable evening at Canada Life Centre.

<img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-211973" class="wp-image-211973"
