East Lansing, Mich. \u2013 Michigan State’s women’s golf team shot a 15-over par 303 in the final round of play and finished in 11th place among 18 teams at The Landfall Tradition, played at the Country Club of Landfall’s Pete Dye Course (par 72, 6,223 yards) in Wilmington, N.C.<\/p>\n

The 18-team field included 14 teams ranked among the top-50 in the country in the latest NCAA rankings.<\/p>\n

Duke led from start to finish and captured the team title at 5-over par 869 (286-290-293), with Wake Forest (290-297-290) and South Carolina (297-287-293) tied for second place at 13-over par 877, Florida State fourth at 22-over par 886 (295-300-291) and SMU rounded out the top-five teams at 23-over par 887 (293-289-305).<\/p>\n

Michigan State finished in 11th place at 39-over par 903 (304-296-305).<\/p>\n

Sophomore Lucia Valderrama<\/a> had the team’s best round of the day on Sunday with a 1-over par 73 and tied for 30th place at 9-over par 225 (75-77-73).<\/p>\n

Sophomore Almendra Campoverde<\/a> tied for 36th place at 6-over par 226 (77-71-78).<\/p>\n

Seniors Ana Sofia Murcia<\/a> (75-80-75) and Keeley Marx<\/a> (77-76-77) both posted scores of 14-over par 230 and tied for 59th place.<\/p>\n

Junior Grace Vetter<\/a> tied for 77th place at 17-over par 233 (77-72-84).<\/p>\n

Michigan State opens the second half of the season playing in the Paradise Invitational from Feb. 1-3 at Osprey Point Club in Boca Raton, Fla.
