A man has died after a stabbing in Mississauga early Sunday morning, and police say the suspect fled the area.<\/p>\n

Peel Regional Police were called to the area of Tomken Road and Kamato Road at about 4:54 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 25) for reports of a stabbing.<\/p>\n

Police say one man was stabbed and later died of his injuries.<\/p>\n

The suspect fled before police arrived, and there is no suspect description at this time.<\/p>\n

Police say the stabbing appears to be an isolated incident.<\/p>\n

There is a large police presence in the area, and residents can expect road closures while officers investigate.<\/p>\n

The man\u2019s identity has not been released.<\/p>\n

UPDATE (Oct. 25, 2:35 p.m.): Peel police have released a video<\/a> on social media about the fatal stabbing and confirmed they are treating it as a homicide.<\/p>\n

In the video, police say officers found the man with life-threatening injuries just before 5 a.m. They performed CPR and first aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

Police say the preliminary investigation suggests an altercation broke out in a parking lot after a private event in the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re urging anyone who attended the event or was in the area at the time to please come forward,\u201d police said in the video.<\/p>\n
