Atalanta director Tony D\u2019Amico says La Dea are \u2018disappointed\u2019 by Ademola Lookman and will \u2018make assessments\u2019 when the summer transfer window comes to an end.<\/p>\n

Atalanta provided a brief update on the Lookman situation before their Serie A opener against Pisa.<\/p>\n

\u201cLookman is not training with the group<\/a>, and we are experiencing more and more situations like this,\u201d D\u2019Amico told DAZN via TMW.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are sorry for everyone, but right now this is the situation. We\u2019ll make assessments at the end of the transfer window. As of today, there\u2019s disappointment.\u201d<\/p>\n

This means Atalanta will either decide to reintroduce the player to the team in September or leave him out of the squad for longer.<\/p>\n

Lookman firmly pushed to join Atalanta\u2019s domestic rivals Inter in early August, but the Milan-based club failed to match La Dea\u2019s \u20ac50m asking price.<\/p>\n

Lookman even cancelled pictures with an Atalanta jersey from his Instagram profile, but suddenly returned to the club\u2019s training centre for pre-season preparations last week.<\/p>\n

The Nigerian star has now been frozen out of the first team and will train separately at least for another week, missing the Serie A Round 2 as well.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old is contracted with Atalanta until June 2027.<\/p>\n

He has scored 52 goals in 118 appearances with La Dea, winning the African Ballon d\u2019Or Award in 2024, months after inspiring La Dea\u2019s Europa League victory by scoring a hat-trick in the Final against Bayer Leverkusen.<\/p>\n
