The assault happened around 5:15 p.m. on May 25 on a Brampton Transit bus in the area of Rutherford Road and Steeles Avenue in Brampton, Peel Regional Police say.<\/p>\n

Police are searching for a suspect after a transit rider was assaulted by a stranger on a Brampton bus.<\/p>\n

The assault happened around 5:15 p.m. on May 25 on a Brampton Transit bus in the area of Rutherford Road and Steeles Avenue in Brampton, Peel Regional Police say.<\/p>\n

The suspect and victim were both passengers on the bus when the suspect allegedly attacked the victim without provocation, investigators say.<\/p>\n

The suspect struck the victim numerous times during the attack. The male suspect also knocked the victim\u2019s glasses off their face, and smacked a phone out of their hand.<\/p>\n

Police say the victim suffered serious injuries to their face and head.<\/p>\n

Investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.<\/p>\n

The suspect is described as a male approximately 5\u201910\u201d tall and weighing 170 lbs.. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, a black bandana around his neck, a yellow and navy jacket, blue jeans, dark-coloured shoes, and a red, yellow, and blue backpack.<\/p>\n

The suspect fled the area on a bicycle with red pedals, a red-and-black seat, and a blue-and-red frame. He was last seen travelling eastbound on Steeles Avenue.<\/p>\n

Police have released images of the suspect, and anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to contact investigators with 21 Division CIB at 905-453-2121 ext. 2133.<\/p>\n

Police are also asking for the public\u2019s assistance after sexual assaults were reported on Brampton Transit Z\u00fcm buses<\/a>. The alleged sexual assaults involving two victims, including one youth, were reported between Oct. 1 and 15 on the Z\u00fcm buses, Peel Regional Police say.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information regarding these incidents, or who may have had contact with the suspect, is asked to contact investigators with the Special Victims Unit at 905-453-2121 ext. 3460.<\/p>\n
