{"id":951161,"date":"2026-10-29T22:38:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-29T22:38:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/951161\/"},"modified":"2026-10-29T22:38:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-29T22:38:09","slug":"larkin-decides-to-sit-out-until-red-wings-complete-trade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/951161\/","title":{"rendered":"Larkin decides to sit out until Red Wings complete trade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to multiple sources, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/hockey\/nhl\/teams\/detroit-red-wings\/\" class=\"sn-team-post-link\" target=\"_self\" data-team=\"detroit-red-wings\" data-league=\"nhl\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Detroit Red Wings<\/a> were informed Wednesday night that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/hockey\/nhl\/players\/dylan-larkin\/61eae331-7558-4f3d-a3d0-886a9f422c91\" class=\"sn-player-post-link\" target=\"_self\" data-player=\"61eae331-7558-4f3d-a3d0-886a9f422c91\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Dylan Larkin<\/a> made the decision to sit out until he is traded. <\/p>\n<p>Those same sources indicated Larkin felt he had done right by them playing through his trade request, but \u201chad enough\u201d and it is time for the move to happen.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Red Wings have made it very clear they have a certain bar that must be leaped for anyone to acquire Larkin, but it\u2019s clear he wants to give this a tush-push over the goal line.<\/p>\n<p>Head coach Todd McLellan said Thursday morning Larkin wouldn\u2019t play Thursday night against Chicago, and that interim GM Shawn Horcoff would address the situation. The Red Wings are expected to release a statement sometime Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Sources indicate that Larkin\u2019s agent, Pat Brisson, flew to Detroit this week to meet with Larkin face-to-face after the team\u2019s recent road trip.
