For decades, when someone mentioned Stewart, McKellen’s name wasn\u2019t far behind. They starred together in X2: X-Men United (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), performed on Broadway together in several theatrical productions in the 2010s and were close friends off-screen as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n
