What the partnership covers: From course development to job placement support<\/p>\n

The agreement was created to train professionals with the data skills demanded in the field as the golf industry undergoes digital transformation, and to establish an ongoing framework for collaboration between the university and businesses in education and research. The organizations plan to work together to develop and run data-driven course management courses, provide current students with field training, internships and job placement support, build industry-academia networks and promote joint research, and expand collaboration in course management.<\/p>\n

Earlier, on October 19, Meissa took part in an industry employment seminar at Korea Golf Science University, where it introduced students to data-driven course management technologies and examples of their use in the field. Se-hyeon Gil, Meissa Green team lead, discussed how digital technologies\u2014including drones, sensors and autonomous mowing equipment\u2014are changing the role of course managers and underscored the importance of data-driven decision-making.<\/p>\n

Why data? Transforming course management once reliant on experience and intuition<\/p>\n

Golf course management faces a range of challenges, including changes in climate and turf growing conditions, large areas to maintain, and differences in the experience and know-how of individual staff members. Meissa advocates combining field professionals\u2019 experience with objective measurements and records, then using the accumulated data to inform organizational management standards and decision-making.<\/p>\n

Meissa Green has been used at more than 20 golf courses in Korea and abroad to date. By integrating drone-based geospatial data with on-site management records, it helps golf courses systematically track course conditions and work history, and supports the creation of a course management environment in which data backs up the judgment of field professionals.<\/p>\n
