Mike Walker reports. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A 33-year-old Brampton man has been charged after a City of Toronto traffic agent was fatally struck by a dump truck Thursday morning while on the job in the city\u2019s east end.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The incident happened in the area of Millwood Road and Overlea Boulevard at approximately 9 a.m. where officials first reported it as a pedestrian-involved collision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">It wasn\u2019t until late morning that Mayor Olivia Chow identified the victim as traffic agent, writing that she was \u201cheartbroken\u201d to learn of the death. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Investigators say the 42-year-old traffic agent was directing traffic when a blue Kenworth dump truck travelling southbound on Millwood Road attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound Overlea Boulevard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The truck hit the traffic agent during the turn, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Despite life-saving efforts, the traffic agent was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with officials, Duty Insp. Peter Wallace previously noted.<\/p>\n<p>TPS confirms 42-year-old traffic agent killed by a truck turning into intersection TPS Duty Insp.
