Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Trevor Harris isn’t sure if he’ll continue his storied CFL career next season but said he’ll make his decision soon.

“I don’t take too long with decisions like that, but you do mull over things like that,” Harris told reporters after the Western Semi-Final. “At this point, you just don’t know what the plan of the organization is, what plans for me, my family. I’m always going to pray about it and talk to my family, but I’ll deal with that here over the next few weeks.”

Saskatchewan’s season ended Saturday with a 33-26 loss in Vancouver to the B.C. Lions.

Harris, 40, completed 29 of 40 passes for 309 yards and one interception.

“Trevor and I have a good enough relationship to have a conversation (about his future),” Riders coach Corey Mace told the Rider Broadcast Network’s postgame show.

“Trev’s a Hall of Famer, so it’ll be year-to-year in how we operate with that. But ultimately with him, you give him his time and what he needs to have a conversation, educated decision-making for him, but I thought he had an unbelievable year.”

Harris, a pending free agent, was named Saskatchewan’s Most Outstanding Player after leading the CFL with 5,370 yards passing – a career best. He threw for 32 touchdowns and had 15 interceptions to go along with a 70.1 completion percentage.

He accomplished all that with two of his top three receivers missing significant time due to injuries. Sam Emilus missed nine games with two separate injury stints and Kian Schaffer-Baker was sidelined for six contests with a knee problem.

“I’m incredibly proud of him,” Mace said. “For him to have the year that he had — statistically one of the best in his long career — with the injuries that we had at (receiver), how crucial it was just the trust and the belief that he had, and even young guys having to step up, delivering the football, it was just a credit to him.

“Outside of how he played — how he led, how he operates every single day — I’ve been around a lot of really, really, really good players, and he’s right up there with the best I’ve ever been around in how he operates.”

Harris, who turns before next season commences, has 43,067 yards passing in his CFL career. He moved into 10th all-time in that category earlier this season, passing the great Doug Flutie.

Harris isn’t sure if he’ll continue his storied CFL career next season but said he’ll make his decision…

[437
49,48,521,522,520,82
post-955610","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-cfl","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-canadian-football-league","tag-canadianfootballleague","tag-cfl","tag-sports
["GET
