The former Dutch cyclist proudly shared the news on his social media accounts. Michael Boogerd also completed the marathon on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Dumoulin has been an avid runner since he retired as a professional cyclist in late 2022. The former Giro d&#8217;Italia champion has regularly impressed in running races, and Sunday&#8217;s race in New York was no exception.<\/p>\n<p>After the 2025 Amsterdam Marathon, Dumoulin had a time of 2 hours, 29 minutes, and 24 seconds he had clocked back then. While he had spoken of \u201coverconfidence\u201d after the Amsterdam Marathon\u2014because he had started too fast in the first half\u2014in the U.S. he had everything under control.<\/p>\n<p>Continue reading below the photo<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/tom-dumoulin-6ae78cae8fe2c.jpg@webp.webp\" class=\"w-auto h-auto\" alt=\"tom-dumoulin\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Tom Dumoulin<\/p>\n<p>Dumoulin sets personal best marathon time in New YorkFirst and foremost, a dream came true, because the New York Marathon was on his bucket list. \u201cIt was an amazing experience,\u201d he wrote on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DfNX4zgm0KO\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=AKU004_J5d3Yb8sGYmTC_xq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">social media accounts<\/a> Sunday evening. \u201cI enjoyed every minute of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Still, Dumoulin had to dig deep to beat his 2025 time. \u201cWhat a day\u2026 I\u2019m blessed to have been able to share this with my family. Oh, and a nice personal best of 2:27:12!\u201d That means Dumoulin was 2 minutes and 12 seconds faster.<\/p>\n<p>People in New York had better watch out for a Dutchman and his family on Monday and Tuesday. \u201cI\u2019ll be weaving my way through the streets of New York instead of walking for the next two days, but it was worth it,\u201d Dumoulin concluded with a laugh.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Tom Dumoulin set a personal best on Sunday in New York during the city\u2019s annual marathon.
