UFC Vegas 124<\/a> is less than 24 hours away \u2026<\/p>\n

It all goes down this weekend (Sat., Nov. 7, 2026), inside the META APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the main event, top 15 Heavyweight collide on short notice as Waldo Cortes-Acosta takes on the always exciting Johnny Walker.<\/p>\n

Former UFC Strawweight title challenger Tatiana Suarez returns to action against fellow former title challenger Virna Jandiroba in UFC Vegas 124\u2019s co-main event.<\/p>\n

This week, I\u2019m locking in Suarez\u2019s moneyline at (-205<\/a>).<\/p>\n

I still firmly believe Suarez is one of the best Strawweights on the planet.<\/p>\n

Yes, she got completely outclassed by Weili Zhang in her first UFC title opportunity last year. It wasn\u2019t particularly competitive, and the former champion exposed some serious holes in Suarez\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

But here\u2019s the thing: Zhang is one of the greatest female fighters of all time.<\/p>\n

Losing to her doesn\u2019t suddenly mean Suarez isn\u2019t elite. In fact, I still think Suarez beats just about everyone else in the division.<\/p>\n

And that includes Jandiroba.<\/p>\n

Suarez possesses some of the best wrestling in women\u2019s MMA, averaging 4.52 takedowns per 15 minutes. She\u2019s physically strong, relentless with her pressure, and has the ability to dictate exactly where a fight takes place.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s going to be a problem for Jandiroba.<\/p>\n

The 38-year-old Brazilian is an outstanding grappler herself, but her 73 percent takedown defense is going to be tested against someone with Suarez\u2019s wrestling credentials.<\/p>\n

And while Jandiroba is dangerous off her back, Suarez has never been submitted in her professional career. That doesn\u2019t mean she\u2019s immune to submissions, but it certainly gives me confidence that she can navigate Jandiroba\u2019s dangerous guard without getting caught.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also a difference between being a great grappler and being a great wrestler.<\/p>\n

Jandiroba is exceptional at finding submissions and capitalizing on scrambles, but Suarez\u2019s ability to secure takedowns, establish dominant positions, and maintain top control is what separates her from most of the division.<\/p>\n

Plus, Suarez has already bounced back nicely from her loss to Zhang, defeating Amanda Lemos and submitting Loopy Godinez in her last two outings.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s still improving, still dangerous and still very much in the title picture.<\/p>\n

Betting on women\u2019s MMA is always a risk, and Jandiroba is no joke.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s one of the most accomplished submission artists in the division and has the ability to turn a single scramble into a fight-ending opportunity. She\u2019s also never been finished, so expecting Suarez to simply run through her would be foolish.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also the possibility that the grappling cancels itself out, forcing Suarez into a prolonged striking battle where she\u2019s considerably less comfortable.<\/p>\n

Still, I trust Suarez\u2019s wrestling, physicality and ability to dictate the pace far more than Jandiroba\u2019s submission hunting.<\/p>\n

I think Suarez takes down the older Brazilian repeatedly, controls the action and reminds everyone why she\u2019s still one of the best Strawweights in the world.<\/p>\n
