Brandon Aiyuk’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, briefly discussed the wide receiver’s meeting with the San Francisco 49ers on Friday.<\/p>\n
“Hey, guys, to be continued,” Rosenhaus told reporters, via Matt Maiocco<\/a> of NBC Sports Bay Area. “We don’t have any further statements right now. But when we do, we’ll let you know.”<\/p>\n Aiyuk also weighed in on the situation.<\/p>\n “We met with the bosses, man,” Aiyuk said, per Maiocco. “Big bosses.”<\/p>\n The 28-year-old was placed on the reserve\/left squad list by the 49ers in Dec. 2025, but applied<\/a> for reinstatement on Wednesday.<\/p>\n Aiyuk also provided an update on his health prior to the meeting.<\/p>\n “I’m feeling great, feeling healthy,” Aiyuk told reporters. “It was a long recovery process, a long rehab process but I’m back to 100 percent and looking to get reinstated to the National Football League.”<\/p>\n He has yet to appear in a game since suffering a torn ACL, MCL and meniscus in Oct. 2024.<\/p>\n Aiyuk signed a four-year contract extension worth $120 million with San Francisco ahead of the 2024 season, but Michael Silver<\/a> of The Athletic reported that the team voided the guaranteed money in the wideout’s deal after he “failed to attend meetings” and skipped “other team activities” following his knee injury.<\/p>\n ESPN’s Nick Wagoner<\/a>\u00a0noted that Aiyuk turning in paperwork to be reinstated is the “first step” to forcing the 49ers to trade or release him.<\/p>\n He doesn’t currently affect San Francisco’s salary cap since he’s on the reserve\/left squad list, but the team would take on dead cap charges of $12.4 million in 2026 and $19.3 million in 2027 by releasing him (h\/t Spotrac’s Michael Ginnitti<\/a>).<\/p>\n
