{"id":96287,"date":"2025-08-25T16:43:07","date_gmt":"2025-08-25T16:43:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/96287\/"},"modified":"2025-08-25T16:43:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T16:43:07","slug":"gilmore-girls-doc-in-the-works-with-kelly-bishop-jared-padalecki","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/96287\/","title":{"rendered":"Gilmore Girls Doc in the Works With Kelly Bishop, Jared Padalecki"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn celebration of the 25th anniversary of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/gilmore-girls\/\" id=\"auto-tag_gilmore-girls_1\" data-tag=\"gilmore-girls\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gilmore Girls<\/a> this October, a new documentary,\u00a0Searching For Stars Hollow, is in the works with stars <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/kelly-bishop\/\" id=\"auto-tag_kelly-bishop_1\" data-tag=\"kelly-bishop\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kelly Bishop<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/jared-padalecki\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jared-padalecki_1\" data-tag=\"jared-padalecki\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jared Padalecki<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/chad-michael-murray\/\" id=\"auto-tag_chad-michael-murray_1\" data-tag=\"chad-michael-murray\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chad Michael Murray<\/a>, among others.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSearching For Stars Hollow, from Ink On Paper Studios, is set to examine \u201cthe beloved show\u2019s role in American cultural history,\u201d per a press release, as well as include never-before-seen interviews with castmembers and behind-the-scenes stories from crewmembers, writers and directors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn addition to Bishop (Emily Gilmore), Padalecki (Dean Forester) and Murray (Tristin Dugray), the doc will also feature interviews with Keiko Agena (Lane Kim), Sally Struthers (Babette Dell), Liz Torres (Miss Patty), Emily Kuroda (Mrs. Kim), Rose Abdoo (Gypsy), Kathleen Wilhoite (Liz Danes), Matt Jones (Morgan), Grant Lee Phillips (the town troubadour), director Jamie Babbit, writer and producer Stan Zimmerman, casting directors Jami Rudofsky and Mara Casey, and Kevin T Porter, host of the Gilmore Guys podcast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tGilmore Girls, which ran for seven seasons, from 2000-07, centered around the relationship between a thirtysomething single mother, Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham), and her teen daughter, Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel), living in the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. Melissa McCarthy, Scott Patterson, Sean Gunn and the late Edward Herrmann also starred in the Amy Sherman-Palladino-created dramedy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMeghna Balakumar and Kevin Konrad Hanna are directing the documentary, with Adam F. Goldberg executive producing and Jim Demonakos producing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cThe interviews that we\u2019ve already conducted with the cast have been a delight,\u201d Balakumar said in a statement. \u201cWe\u2019ve shot more than 100 hours of footage and have already unearthed stories, commentary, critiques, and more. And we\u2019re continuing to shoot more interviews in the coming months to present the most complete, full and truly new story of the show\u2019s impact and legacy that is only possible at this historical moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tDemonakos added, \u201cSearching For Stars Hollow\u00a0will reveal how\u00a0Gilmore Girls\u00a0came to life, why it continues to resonate across generations, and how its unique blend of humor, heart and pop culture shaped a devoted worldwide fan community with an in-depth look at its creation and the connections it continues to foster.
