COLUMBUS, Ga. – Pepperdine women’s golf sophomore Eunseo Choi<\/a> has been named to the ANNIKA Award Watch List, announced today by the Haskins Foundation and media partners Golfweek and the Golf Channel.<\/p>\n

Created in 2014, the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel is annually given to the top female Division I collegiate golfer; the winner voted on by players, coaches and members of the golf media. Named for and presented by Annika Sorenstam, the watch\u00a0list is the start of a season-long campaign that will lead to the winner announced at the NCAA Women’s Golf Championships.<\/p>\n

Choi, a native of Auckland, New Zealand, had a standout freshman season for the Waves which included setting a new program record for low round at an NCAA Regional with her 6-under 66 in the second round. She also earned an\u00a0individual win at the Silicon Valley Showcase, leading Pepperdine to the team title at the tournament. Choi\u00a0was a consistent performer for the Waves in the biggest tournaments of the season, finishing in the top-10 at both the NCAA Lexington Regional and the\u00a0WCC Championships.<\/p>\n

“Eunseo had a very good summer competing around the world and is ready to elevate her game to the next level,” said head coach Laurie Gibbs<\/a>. “Our team looks forward to a schedule that includes multiple tournaments against the top teams and players in the country.”<\/p>\n

Choi earned WCC Freshman of the Year following the 2024-25 campaign and was named a WGCA All-American Scholar this summer. This past month, Choi tied for second place at the Canadian Women’s Amateur\u00a0at The Riverside Country Club in Rothesay, N.B.<\/p>\n

Pepperdine will begin the season on Sept. 8-10 at the Annika Intercollegiate at the Royal Golf Club outside Minneapolis. The field of 12 teams includes multiple programs ranked inside the top-10 as the Waves will compete\u00a0alongside elite competition from across the country. \n<\/p>\n

ABOUT PEPPERDINE WOMEN’S GOLF

\nPepperdine women’s golf has consistently been one of the top collegiate programs in the country under head coach Laurie Gibbs<\/a>, exemplified by the current streak of 26 straight seasons with an NCAA Regional appearance.
