<\/p>\n MORGANTOWN, W.Va. \u2013 The La Salle men’s soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to #16 nationally ranked West Virginia Monday evening at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.<\/p>\n The Mountaineers struck first in the ninth minute when Marcus Caldeira scored off a free kick\u00a0to give the hosts an early 1-0 advantage. Thijs Veldhorst doubled the lead just before halftime, finishing in the 42nd minute off a setup from Ethan Dekel Daks.<\/p>\n West Virginia continued to apply pressure in the second half, extending its lead to 3-0 in the 63rd minute on a goal from Bryce Swinehart. Caldeira capped the scoring with his second goal of the night in the 86th minute.<\/p>\n The contest was physical throughout, featuring 16 fouls and eight cards, including a first-half red card to La Salle’s Ismael Deme<\/a> in the 37th minute.<\/p>\n
