New Delhi: Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar recalled his on-field battles with Australia\u2019s Glenn McGrath and the late spin master Shane Warne. He also made a humorous comment about former international umpire Steve Bucknor, who made a number of controversial calls against him during his playing career.<\/p>\n

During an \u201cAsk me anything\u2019 session on Reddit, Sachin answered fascinating questions related to his playing days. <\/p>\n

When questioned whether he had ever intentionally played a false shot to disrupt a bowler\u2019s rhythm or gauge his reaction, Sachin said, \u201cYes, on many occasions I have played risky shots to break bowler\u2019s rhythm. The one that comes to my mind is against McGrath at Nairobi in 2000\u2033<\/p>\n

He was referring to the 2000 ICC Champions Trophy quarterfinal clash with Australia, where McGrath, who was wicketless, attempted to dominate the opening pair of Sachin and Sourav Ganguly. Sachin counterattacked, hitting him for three sixes and two fours in his 38 off 37 balls, which included three boundaries. <\/p>\n

India scored 265\/9 thanks to his quick 66-run opening partnership with Ganguly, which set the stage for debutant Yuvraj Singh\u2019s game-winning 84. McGrath conceded 61 runs in nine overs and was left without a wicket.<\/p>\n
