Keli Holiday takes it straight to The Boss for his debut solo Like A Version.
Striking out alone without his Peking Duk partner in crime, Keli Holiday tackled Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 desire-driven heater, ‘I’m On Fire’.
“The Boss is The Boss for a reason and I was a late bloomer to this fact of life,” Keli said.
“I think it was maybe only four years ago when I was on a plane and I heard this song and I had to run it back because it grabbed me right by the jewels and held me close.
“It’s very powerful in its simplicity. It’s horny, it’s a really horny song but it’s also haunting.”
While it’s his solo debut in the Like A Version studio, Keli Holiday wasn’t alone in the crowded room.
Bringing in Baker Boy on the yidaki, a full band, string section and backing vocals (including Abbie Chatfield’s sister Jodie), Keli Holiday made a lasting impression with this cover.
