As supporters face an anxious wait to see if their team will be awarded a licence to play in the Premier Division for next season, which is a major doubt, there is fresh turmoil for Dundalk FC as the minority group of USA-based shareholders in the club have told majority shareholder John Temple to hand over his stake in the club or they will “take all steps we consider necessary to protect Dundalk FC’s interests” which could see them walk away.

Dundalk had a good season on the field this season as Ciaran Kilduff’s side romped to a title win in Division One. That should mean automatic promotion to the top flight but there are serious concerns in the town around the club’s ability to meet demands for a Premier Division club licence, particularly the floodlights and the pitch at Oriel Park.
