Orion Event Details5 P.M. EST – Branching Out: On the Future of Environmental Storytelling, presented by Orion Magazine

In the past few decades, what we traditionally think of as “nature writing” has undergone a notable and necessary shift—in the voices that participate in the conversation; in the relationship between nature writing and other literary genres; and even in what counts as an “environment” worthy of our attention. Nonfiction writers and Orion contributors Leslie Jamison (Splinters), Emily Raboteau (Lessons  For Survival), and Eric Dean Wilson (After Cooling) join Orion publisher Neal Thompson to discuss what a more expansive, inclusive definition of nature writing can look like; one with the capacity to change how we think about and interact with the environments around us.
