EMERGENCY services have rushed to a collision on the main Limerick to Cork (N20) road this Monday afternoon.

It occurred on the Charleville side of Rockhill Cross – just a couple of miles from the county bounds – around 1.30pm.

It is not known, at this time, how many vehicles were involved, or if any of the occupants of the vehicles suffered serious injuries, if any.

There are long traffic delays with vehicles backed up as far as O’Rourke’s Cross. It is adding further complications to reports of “gridlock” in Charleville due to stop-go traffic management for works near Broad Street.

Motorists are advised, where possible, to avoid the area.
