Hundreds of Dubliners lined O’Connell Street a year ago, expecting a Halloween parade. But there was one big problem: it didn’t exist.
The phantom procession had been listed on a website called My Spirit Halloween, a US-based site run from Pakistan that used promotional pictures for the event that were from events held by Galway-based performance group Macnas in the capital in 2023.
