Former Science Foundation Ireland chief Philip Nolan received 475,000 as part of the settlement of his legal action about the termination of his contract with the State organisation in 2024.
The payout to Prof Nolan – who became a household name during the Covid-19 pandemic when he served a member of the high-profile National Public Health Emergency Team (Nphet) – is revealed in the financial statements of Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) for 2024. The €474,000 figure is made up of a €200,000 payout plus €275,000 for his legal costs.
