A new pub named Ó Súilleabháin’s has opened on Washington Street in Cork, placing an emphasis on the city’s colourful past.

Located on a site where many pubs have operated for over 100 years, most recently Preachers, Ó Súilleabháin’s is a homage to all things Cork.

The bar management spent a number of months sourcing old Cork images and memorabilia from around the world.

Manager of Ó Súilleabháin’s Bar Kaja Tomczak said there is a mood of excitement in the air for what lies ahead.

“We wanted to create a cozy pub where people could once again dive in from the hustle and bustle of the city and relax with great drinks, chats and cozy vibes.

“We also sourced a lot of Murphy’s and Beamish memorabilia from as far away at the USA and France.

“We even have a small library, featuring books of images, stories and poetry from Cork. So, people can relax with a drink, chat or just enjoy the great history of Cork.

“We will also have great trad and live music sessions for our customers to enjoy.”
