Central Bank has probed usage of short-term point-of-sale loans

An international buy-now pay-later (BNPL) lender’s Irish operation is among its best performers globally, underscoring the soaring popularity of short-term retail loans among consumers in Ireland.
Humm, an Australian-listed BNPL lender previously known here as Flexifi, has revealed that the value of loans and advances for its point-of-sale payment plans in Ireland reached A$189.5m (€107.2m) in its 2025 financial results, more than double its newer UK business.
