Brooklyn Beckham has remained noticeably quiet following news that his father David received a knighthood. The 26 year old, the eldest son of David and Victoria, is embroiled in a family row alongside his wife, Nicola Peltz.
Insiders claim that Brooklyn and Nicola are not currently speaking to his parents. The falling-out, which worsened after the pair failed to attend David’s 50th birthday party in May, seems to have played a part in Brooklyn’s silence regarding his father’s latest accolade.
David, who was formally knighted on Tuesday at a Windsor Castle ceremony, appeared on the King’s Birthday Honours List in June. Whilst the remainder of the Beckham clan openly celebrated the news, Brooklyn remained silent.
The budding chef instead shared an Instagram story advertising pretzel pita chips moments after it was revealed his father would be made a Sir by His Majesty, King Charles III – a decision that baffled numerous followers.
Sources say David never informed Brooklyn about his honour and the young man discovered the news via the media, reports the Mirror.
Despite his public reticence, one insider suggested that Brooklyn was “thrilled” for his dad but continues to prefer “no contact” with his family at present. The family dispute can be traced back to Brooklyn and Nicola’s extravagant 2022 wedding in Palm Beach, Florida.
Tensions are said to have flared when Nicola showed interest in wearing a wedding gown designed by Victoria Beckham, but scheduling conflicts at Victoria’s atelier meant it couldn’t be created. Nicola opted for a bespoke Valentino dress instead, reportedly leaving Victoria feeling pushed aside and triggering friction.
Nicola subsequently dismissed any feud in interviews, describing the dress situation as exaggerated. The rift has manifested itself through social media snubs, missed events such as Victoria’s fashion shows, and holiday absences.

By 2025, matters intensified, with the couple absent from David’s birthday, fuelling rumours of a more serious divide. Sources suggest Brooklyn feels caught between his wife and parents, with Nicola allegedly encouraging separation from the family.
David’s knighthood brings additional complexity to the situation. The football legend has long desired the “Sir” title for his sporting achievements, UNICEF work and charitable endeavours.
His aspirations stumbled in 2017 after leaked emails purportedly revealed his anger at being passed over, describing the honours committee as “unappreciative c***s” and ridiculing others’ awards, which set back his prospects.
Nevertheless, Beckham will now finally be known as Sir David, whilst his wife Victoria will be styled as Lady Beckham.
