Benefit and pension rates increase proposed in Guernsey

Proposals to increase pension and benefit rates in Guernsey by 4.2% have been put forward by the Committee for Employment and Social Security (ESS).

If approved by deputies, it will mean the weekly payout for the States pension would increase from £280.32 to £292.09 per week.

Changes to how long-term care is funded have also been put forward, which could see residential care benefits increase from £818.00 to £837.62 per week.

Deputies are expected to vote on these proposals in October.
