Citylink officials are assisting gardai in an investigation after video surfaced online showing a woman trapped inside a suitcase.

In a statement released on Friday evening, Citylink confirmed that the woman in question was an “unauthorised” passenger on their service.

The worrying video appears to show a woman inside a suitcase in the hold of a Galway Bus.

In the video, you can see the suitcase on its side and can hear a woman calling out.

The person who is recording approaches the suitcase and unzips it to find a woman who appears confused and afraid,” reports Galway Beo.

A man can be heard asking her, “who put you in there?” before she eventually manages to get out of the suitcase, saying, “thank God, thank God.”

The woman then sits up and puts her head in her hands.

In a statement to Galway Beo, a Citylink spokesperson said: “We are aware of the footage involving an unauthorised traveller on one of our services. We have assisted the Garda with their investigation.”
