One of the Avengers: Doomsday writers has suggested a major role for Glen Powell in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and of all the projects that hero could appear, perhaps one of the most exciting would be an R-rated release for one reason. After playing Hangman in Top Gun: Maverick, Powell has become one of Hollywood’s most in-demand stars.
That has led to the actor starring in major projects, such as Twisters and The Running Man, with Powell commenting on the possibility of joining the MCU’s slate of projects or one of James Gunn’s DC Universe films and series in the future. While there is nothing for now, his perfect role might have been revealed by one of the writers of a massive MCU release.
I Agree With Michael Waldron About Glen Powell’s Perfect MCU Role

Nova showing his power in Marvel Comics
Michael Waldron, who has worked on multiple MCU projects and co-created the sports comedy series Chad Powers with Glen Powell, addressed who he thinks his collaborator should play in the MCU. Waldron believes Powell would be great for Nova, and I happen to think that would be one of the best MCU roles for the star.
As the sole survivor of the Nova Corps, Richard Rider needs an actor with gravitas and star power to play him. Powell fits the bill, and the actor could easily portray different sides of Nova. For instance, when he started, Rider was cocky, having a rebellious spirit, just like Powell’s Hangman in Top Gun: Maverick.
However, with time, Nova matures into a responsible hero and leader. I would love to see Powell explore the character’s changes throughout the MCU. Powell’s rising star status in Hollywood, with many fans claiming he is the industry’s new “movie star,” would also help put Marvel’s Nova series back into development. The MCU TV show has been put on pause for now.
Glen Powell As Nova Could Change Marvel Zombies Season 2
While Nova could be part of Avengers: Doomsday’s story, Avengers: Secret Wars, a Guardians of the Galaxy movie, or his own Disney+ MCU show, I feel that another project could benefit from having him. That would be Marvel Zombies, the bloody, TV-MA animated series that saw several heroes die in its 4-episode first season.
In the comics, Nova becomes one of the undead and is part of an attack on Doctor Doom’s Castle Doomstadt. With Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom making his MCU debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ post-credits scene and set to be the main villain of two Avengers movies, the character should be available for Marvel Zombies to use.
As such, if Powell were to be cast as Nova in the MCU, we could see that tense moment from the comics, with Nova falling to the undead and later becoming part of a horde that attacks the last remaining humans under Doctor Doom’s protection. That said, no matter what happens, as long as Glen Powell joins the MCU, I will be excited.
