LIMERICK hurling star Sean Finn may not have taken home his fifth All-Star on Friday night but he has won a much bigger prize – longtime love Karen Kinnerk’s hand in marriage.
The couple, who have been an item for the best part of a decade, shared their happy news on Instagram this Sunday.

Karen shared eternity and white love heart emojis, alongside a photo of them on a windswept Irish beach, in an understated engagement announcement. A similarly elegant engagement ring can be seen on her left hand.
Congratulatory messages have flooded in for the teacher in Laurel Hill Secondary School FCJ and Kirby Group Engineering employee.
Dan Morrissey’s wife-to-be Yvonne Maher, Paula Donnelly, Shane Dowling’s wife, and well-known DJ Dec Pierce are just three to congratulate Sean and Karen.
Star corner back Sean, aged 29, from Bruff, is the latest All-Ireland Limerick hurler to pop the question in recent times after Dan Morrissey, Kevin Downes, William O’Donoghue and David Reidy.
The Finn and Kinnerk families are steeped in the GAA as Sean’s dad, Brian, hurled with Limerick in the 1980s and 1990s while Karen’s brother Paul is recognised as one of the top coaches in the country. Prior to linking up with John Kiely for all of Limerick’s five All-Ireland medals since 2018, Paul coached Clare to underage and senior success.
Sean famously worked for years in Glynn’s takeaway in Bruff, including on the Friday night before the 2018 All-Ireland final, and is certainly feeling chipper this Sunday with all the well-wishes for him and his bride-to-be.
