Rod Stewart’s son Sean had a horror first experience as he made his boxing debut at the age of 45. Sean was in the line-up for a Misfits boxing event, facing off with boxer and streamer Brendon Davis – who goes by the name BDave and who is 18 years younger than Sean.
The third eldest of Rod’s eight children, Sean achieved a record KO in the Misfits event after the disastrous event – with a punch landing square on his jaw. Sean left himself undefended and another blow sent him backwards onto the mat, lying motionless on his back. The referee was forced to step in and call the fight off – leaving Sean red-faced.
His famous father couldn’t be at the ring to see his son’s debut as he was busy performing in London, but was name-dropped plenty of times by the announcers who pronounced Sean as “Rod Stewart’s son” throughout the night.
Earlier this year, Sean checked himself into rehab in Malibu due to long-standing childhood issues and a neurodiverse condition – having battled ADHD and dyslexia from a young age.
He said: “I am here to deal with the pain that I had in my childhood that stemmed from suffering from ADHD and an overall feeling that I can’t succeed in life. I am in therapy now, I am focusing on working through the problems.”
Sean “voluntarily checked in” to the facility, with one source telling The Mirror: “Rod is proud of him for getting help. He is expected to do a 90 day stay, which is the norm.”
Sean split from his wife Jody Weintraub last year and began dating Julia Stambler, with one source claiming to People Magazine: “It just wasn’t working with Jody. They tried but are in the process of divorcing and haven’t really been together for months.”
