An Post has unveiled a limited edition stamp collection to celebrate 25 years of Irish boyband Westlife.
The collection of exclusive stamps was created by Shaughn McGrath Creative who has worked closely with the group over the years.
He says the stamps are a tribute to Westlife’s global success, and their role as “wonderful ambassadors” to Ireland and its music.
As well as being collectibles, the stamps will bring a “wave of nostalgia” to every envelope.
Also in the new stamp collection is a booklet of four national rate stamps, each dedicated to one of Westlife’s members — complete with their signatures. Pictures: Matt Holyoak
Commenting on the honour, Westlife members Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne, and Shane Filan said: “To have this recognition means the world to us.
“It is such an honour and privilege to be featured on Irish stamps and it is a very special way to commemorate our 25 years of Westlife touring together.
“We are so grateful to the fans who’ve supported us right from the very beginning and also a special mention and thank you to An Post too.
“See you on the envelopes! Love Kian, Mark, Nicky and Shane.”
The collection features:
A booklet of four national rate stamps, each dedicated to one of the band members — with their signatures;
A €3 souvenir “band” stamp sheet;
And a first day cover envelope featuring exclusive Westlife photography and a special commemorative ‘Sligo’ date stamp.
An Post’s Irish Stamps Manager, Aileen Mooney, said the organisation is “proud to celebrate Westlife’s incredible journey with this special collection.”
These stamps are more than postage — they are a celebration of Irish culture, a keepsake for fans, and a lasting tribute to 25 years of Westlife,” she said.
Westlife, who have sold 55 million records worldwide, also have 14 UK number ones under their belts, as well as multiple Brit and MTV Awards and countless arena tours.
The Westlife 25 Stamps will be available from Thursday at anpost.com/westlife, with booklets also available in post offices nationwide.
