A man in his 50’s is in a serious condition following a crash in Tralee.

It happened on the R551 at Caherslee, in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services were called to the incident involving a cyclist and a car just after 1.30am.

The cyclist was brought to University Hospital Kerry where he remains in a serious condition.

Gardaí had advised that the road was closed from the Balloonagh Cross traffic lights to the Mounthawk roundabout.

A technical examination has taken place, and the road has reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash cam, and were traveling in the Caherslee area of Tralee, Co. Kerry in the early hours of this morning are being asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
