A 32-day aged Irish Angus striploin, produced by Dawn Meats has been named as the World’s Best Steak at the World Steak Challenge 2025.

The steak was also named Europe’s Best Steak and the World’s Best Grass-Fed Sirloin.

In addition to winning the overall global title, Dawn Meats also won the award for the World’s Best Grass-Fed Ribeye for its Premier Butcher Ribeye Wagyu Cross steak.

The County Waterford company which was founded in 1980 has grown to a business with over €3 billion in annual revenue, employing over 8,000 staff in ten countries.

In total, Dawn Meats was awarded 10 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals in addition to its four wins in the overall categories – World’s Best Steak, Europe’s Best Steak, World’s Best Grass-Fed Sirloin and World’s Best Grass-Fed Ribeye. It was also the only Irish company to win awards in the overall world’s best categories.

The Challenge, now in its 11th edition, recognises the best quality meat across the globe.
