The Louth man who became the first person in Ireland to have a heart transplant has been remembered on the 40th anniversary of the medical milestone at Dublin’s Mater Hospital.
The ground-breaking procedure was commemorated by the Mater Hospital Foundation which shared how Carlingford man Eddie Kelly underwent Ireland’s very first heart transplant.
