Laytown beach was transformed into an eerie and unexpected scene over the weekend as hundreds, possibly thousands of starfish were washed ashore in the aftermath of the recent storm.
Local walker Max Cody, who came across the scene late on Sunday morning, said he had “never seen anything like it before.” Max began his walk at around 11.45am near the slipway beside Laytown’s public toilets and quickly realised something unusual was happening.
