Striking snapshots of local landmarks stole the show at a Killarney Women’s Shed photography competition with an exhibition of the best photographs of the winners on show.
The event took place in Killarney House and the free exhibition will remain in place for the next two weeks.
The committee of the Killarney Women’s Shed thanked Diana Fawcitt and her team at Killarney House for all their help in making the event so successful.
The photography competition took place following digital photography workshops funded through the South Kerry Development Partnership.

Photographer Michelle Breen Crean delivered the workshops, teaching a range skills related to the content of photos and the use of cameras on mobile phones.
The theme of the competition was Timeless Landscapes and being in Killarney, there was no shortage of stunning scenery to choose from.
The winner was Fionnuala Lynch and the other prizewinners were Anne O’Keefe, Joan O’Gorman and Mary O’Leary.

Michelle Breen Crean, journalist and author Breda Joy and photographer Tatyana McGough who pooled their expertise and creative talent to judge the 70 photos entered. They also presented the prizes on the day and launched the photo exhibition.
The Killarney Women’s Shed is about bringing women together for connection, enjoyment, a range of activities and opportunities to participate in talks and presentations on a wide range of topics.
The initiative provides an inclusive space for women, fostering kindness and support and it is also about social events, fundraisers and day trips.
The women meet every Tuesday at 10.30am in the Spa GAA Club, Tiernaboul, Killarney.
