The Taoiseach has denied that Paschal Donohoe’s recent resignation — including as chair of the Eurogroup to take up a role in the World Bank — has damaged Ireland’s economic standing at the G20.
Mr Donohoe’s important role overseeing the single currency and its user countries across the EU was seen as an important reason for Ireland to be asked to join the meeting of the world’s most important economies in South Africa this weekend.
