Troy Parrott celebrates with the match ball in the dressing room
Troy Parrott has called on his Ireland team to bring the same “fighting spirit” into the World Cup play-offs in March after last Sunday’s remarkable comeback victory in Hungary.
The Dubliner’s stunning hat-trick, capped off by his now-famous 96th-minute winner, completed Ireland’s 3-2 comeback in Budapest and booked their ticket to the play-offs next March. Czechia await in the semi-final on Thursday March 26 and should Heimir Hallgrimsson’s men progress, they will play the final at Lansdowne Road on the following Tuesday against either Denmark or North Macedonia, after the draw was completed yesterday.
