Over the years, Ireland’s environmental and economic interests have been pitched at odds with one another. But this need not be the case, and championing small-scale fisheries is one way positive change could make a difference, says Grace Carr at the Irish Wildlife Trust (IWT).

“Our sustainable fisheries project is one example of how we’re engaging with local communities to ensure that their voices are heard,” says Carr, who is the IWT’s marine policy officer.
