Warning: This article includes MAJOR SPOILERS for Jurassic World: Chaos Theory season 4!
Netflix’s Jurassic World: Chaos Theory wraps up the final season by continuing a beloved 32-year-old tradition within the franchise. After five seasons of Camp Cretaceous and four seasons of Chaos Theory, the story of the Nublar Six has come to an end. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to them, considering how fantastic the animated shows were.
From start to finish, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory showed respect towards the Jurassic Park movies. Even when they poked fun at Jurassic World Dominion’s most controversial storyline, it felt like a sibling teasing a family member – done in loving jest instead of with malice.
The love for the larger franchise is best proven by the return of Dr. Henry Wu, the appearance of all three T. rexes, and the continuation of one crucial tradition.
Jurassic World: Chaos Theory’s Series Finale Features John Williams’ “Journey To The Island”

One of the most epic moments at the end of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory season 4 is when Big Eatie, Little Eatie, and Rexy fight off the atrociraptors to protect the Nublar Six. During this scene, the show finally makes use of John Williams’ iconic score from the original movie.
The motif of “Journey to the Island” is woven into the rest of the soundtrack, bringing a wave of nostalgia and excitement. I was already enjoying the dinosaur fight scene, but the familiar motif fully immersed me. Plus, Rexy was the OG Jurassic Park Tyrannosaurus, so her fight alongside the other two rexes was the perfect time to continue the tradition of using Williams’ music.
John Williams’ Music Is Integral To The Jurassic Park Franchise
John Williams is one of the most accomplished composers of all time, having written the scores for numerous classic movies. Although he only composed for Jurassic Park and The Lost World, his music is one of the franchise’s most immediately recognizable elements, alongside Rexy.
Every single Jurassic Park film has incorporated John Williams’ themes to maintain continuity and pay homage to the incredible composer. Jurassic World Revival even used a large symphonic orchestra (via NBC) for composer Alexandre Desplat’s score because that’s what John Williams did, and it has become part of Jurassic Park’s DNA.
Future Jurassic World Projects Must Continue The John Williams Tradition

As of the time of writing, there are no Jurassic Park movies or shows officially in the works. Jurassic World: Chaos Theory season 5 isn’t happening. Jurassic World Revival’s director considered the film a one-off, despite it being initially publicized as a trilogy, and Jonathan Bailey is taking a hiatus from acting. The only new thing is the game Jurassic Park: Survival.
However, it’s unlikely the Jurassic Park franchise is done for good. The world will always be fascinated with the wonder and horror of dinosaurs. Plus, it’s fun to see them pick off humans one by one. If and when another Jurassic World project pops up, the creative team cannot stray from the tradition of using John Williams’ incredible Jurassic Park score.
