Bláthnaid Treacy has given fans an update on her recovery after welcoming her second child, an adorable little boy named Jack, on 11 November via C-section.
The 2FM presenter is soaking up time with the newborn, but that doesn’t mean she is happy to sit in the house all day. The star explained that she was getting cabin fever while resting at home, and decided to remedy it by getting out of the house.
Bláthnaid and her husband Charlie took their baby on his first ever coffee date, snapping a pic together to mark the occasion.

‘Baby Jack’s first coffee date with mum, dad & Mabel in our favourite Stoneybatter spot,’ she penned, bringing her beloved pup long with them.
She explained that their daughter, Nancy, was in crèche at the time. ‘I had cabin fever, we literally drove down… post c-section recovery is hard, I can’t sit still, but I’ve been trying my best, I do feel ALOT better now on day 11,’ she added.

Bláthnaid also shared a sweet snap of the newborn, ready for the November weather in a snug knitted bonnet with bear ears, and a cosy blanket. ‘Baby Jack,’ she captioned the post.
The mum-of-two previously told EVOKE she isn’t making the same mistake that she made when her little girl Nancy was born, as she wants to revel in those first few weeks with her newborn, and use the opportunity to hang out with her two-year-old.
Bláthnaid barely took a break from work when she welcomed Nancy with her husband, Charlie Moon, in 2023. The 2FM host went on a blink-and-you-will-miss-it two-month maternity leave before she was back on the airwaves.

The Bray woman told EVOKE that she won’t be doing the same second time around. ‘I only took eight weeks, so that was crazy. I won’t be doing that again! I’m going to take the full six months this time, I won’t take the nine months though.’
‘I was talking to Lottie Ryan about going back to work after your first kid, it can be a thing where you put a lot of pressure on yourself,’ she said.

She wasn’t the only new mum in the notoriously tough business of broadcast journalism to feel the pressure. Dancing With The Stars host Jennifer Zamperelli followed a similar pattern, taking a short maternity leave with her oldest child, Florence.
However, Bláthnaid has learned from her past mistakes and realises that taking some time off with her little ones is well deserved, and something she is really looking forward to.
‘This time I’m like “No babe, take all the time, and enjoy the six months,’ she told us. ‘Work will always be there.’
Bláthnaid is relishing in free time at home with Nancy and Jack, who was born earlier this month.

‘I’m so excited for my little newborn bubble at Christmas time. I just can’t wait to hibernate over the winter and just have a little snuggly time, and I think I’m gonna appreciate that time a little bit more now because I know how quickly it goes,’ she explained.
Despite her plans to take a break this winter, Bláthnaid is still working hard throughout her pregnancy and has even started up a new podcast, called The Triple Effect.

Bláthnaid discussed her thoughts on having two young kids before she welcomed her little man.
‘It’s gonna be it’ll be full on, but plenty of people have done the same thing. I kind of feel I’ve done it once, and I sort of know what I’m doing now,’ she said at the time.
It helps that Nancy is a very gentle little girl who loves all things ‘cute’, so all signs point towards her being a doting big sister to her new sibling.
‘She just turned two, so she doesn’t really get it, but she knows that there’s a baby in mammy’s tummy. She’s sort of getting her head around it.’

‘She’s a very sociable little kid, she’s obsessed with our dog, Mabel, though Mabel’s not so obsessed with her,’ the proud mum laughed. ‘She’s into little cute things, so we kind of keep saying there’s a little cute baby in mummy’s tummy, so we’re trying to get her excited about that.’
Nancy appears to have taken everything in her stride and is shaping up to be the best big sister to Jack.
