The couple tied the knot in Pennsylvania on Nov. 23 after four years of dating
Jon Gosselin‘s wife, Stephanie, is sharing why his emotional wedding vows “meant the world” to her.
After four years of dating, the Jon & Kate Plus 8 alum, 48, and Stephanie, a former beautician and research analyst, married in an intimate ceremony in Lancaster, Pa., on Sunday, Nov. 23. As the couple stood at the altar in front of their 180 guests, Jon made a touching promise to his bride.
“I promise to love you with conditions to lift you up when you’re tired, to laugh with you in joy and hold you in sorrow,” he told Stephanie, as seen in a video of the ceremony shared by Entertainment Tonight.
Then, he said the words that “surprised” Stephanie — and overwhelmed them both with emotion.
“I promise to love your daughter as my own daughter,” Jon vowed, referring to his wife’s daughter, Juliana.
In a sit-down interview with ET at their wedding, Stephanie said Jon’s mention of Juliana was something she wasn’t expecting. “John surprised me with the way he incorporated my child, which was very important. I didn’t see that coming,” she said, adding, “And that meant the world.”
For his part, Jon recalled having to “suck it up and take a deep breath” to stop himself from breaking down in tears when he got to the part about Juliana. “Because I am going to treat her like my daughter,” he explained. “I’m trying to be a good father to her — just like one of my own.”
Jon shares eight children — twins Mady and Cara, 25, and sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel, 21, with ex-wife Kate Gosselin. Hannah and Collin were in attendance at their dad’s wedding on Sunday.

During the interview, Jon also detailed the process of writing his heartfelt wedding vows — with a little help from ChatGPT.
“I am not very good at writing,” he told ET of using the AI tool. “I’m good at speaking and I have some help in vocabulary. So what I did was I wrote down everything that I love about her, everything that I, like, desire about her, and all this stuff. And then ChatGPT kind of formulated it all together.”

“Then, I copied and pasted and put in my own words because I don’t really speak like that,” he continued, “and then I was questioning everything and it became a psychological experiment and I just came up with what I said. So it was trial and error.”
Collin, who served as one of his dad’s groomsmen, opened up about the special day in an interview of his own with ET. He said “it feels good” to see his dad find happiness and love with Stephanie following his previous, 10-year marriage to ex Kate, 50 (which was succeeded by a contentious custody battle).
“It almost feels freeing. Even though it’s not my wedding, I feel this sense of just happiness and freedom for him, on his behalf, because of the things he’s gone through,” Collin explained. “I guess he really hasn’t had it easy in the past, so it’s good to see this.”
The 21-year-old also shared that he was struck by the fact that Jon and Stephanie’s nuptials had “a different weight just because of all the trials and tribulations.”

“I was like, ‘Wow, this feels more monumental for me, and it’s not my wedding,’ because when I looked at my dad, I saw all the hard things he’s been through with marriage, with everything. For me, I saw all of these things just kind of floating away,” he said.
“And that’s something I won’t ever forget,” Collin added. “It wasn’t just tears of, oh, they’re getting married. It was me seeing the past and then looking in this moment and realizing just how freeing this is for him and how much he deserves this.”
