
The incident at Belgard
A passenger was taken to hospital following a collision between a Luas tram and a motor vehicle on Old Belgard Road, Dublin 24, on Tuesday afternoon.
Dublin Fire Brigade and other emergency services attended the scene at approximately 3:50pm. A spokesperson said the passenger was conveyed to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Later the same day, shortly after 5:30pm, a separate collision occurred on James’ Street in central Dublin when a Transport for Ireland bus collided with a Luas tram outside St James’s Hospital.

The crash caused delays to the Luas Red Line and resulted in traffic restrictions in the area. Dublin City Council’s Traffic Management Centre confirmed: “Collision on James St outside hospital. Bus and Luas.”
Both incidents contributed to disruption across the city’s Luas and road network yesterday evening.
A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic collision involving a Luas and a motor vehicle on the Old Belgard Road, Dublin 24 on Tuesday 24th November 2025 at approximately 3:50pm.
“A passenger was conveyed to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries.
“The road has since fully reopened.”
