With the theme “Building Success, Breaking Barriers,” the event highlighted resilience, determination and the growing influence of women in agriculture.

Outgoing DWI President Mary Kinston opened the conference by announcing a 25% increase in membership over the past year, a clear sign of the organisation’s expanding national impact.

She expressed her pride in seeing the community continue to strengthen and thrive.

A diverse line-up of speakers, including MEPs Cynthia Ní Mhurchú and Maria Walsh, shared personal stories of overcoming challenges, seizing opportunities and building meaningful careers, encouraging attendees to stay open to new possibilities.

The afternoon session, facilitated by IFA Deputy President Alice Doyle, featured powerful testimonies from Shannon Porter, Imelda Kinsella and Katherine O’Leary on resilience, navigating change and finding strength in community.

This year also marked DWI’s first-ever Gala Dinner and fashion show, which sold out completely.

The evening brought attendees together for celebration, connection and entertainment, with a standout fashion show showcasing style, confidence and functional farm wear from Irish brands and local boutiques.

Newly appointed DWI President Fiona O’Donnell expressed her delight at the success of the event. “The sold-out gala dinner, the extraordinary speakers and the energy in the room reflected the strength of our organisation and the real appetite for connection among women in agriculture.

“To see such an overwhelming response to our first-ever gala dinner was beyond anything we anticipated. I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Michael Berkery, chair of FBD, for his generous sponsorship of this year’s conference. We are truly grateful,” she added.

Michael Berkery, Chair of FBD Trust said: “FBD was delighted to sponsor this year’s Dairy Women Ireland Conference. We are proud to partner with an organisation like Dairy Women Ireland that is championing communities every day.”

DWI extends its sincere thanks to all speakers, sponsors, volunteers and attendees whose support made the 2025 conference such a success.

Planning is already underway for next year as the organisation continues championing, connecting and empowering women across the Irish dairy industry.
