Ballinrobe second Bridezilla rates a major player if handling this softer ground, but preference is for hurdles debutant WACKESTONE, who handled soft ground well on the Flat when last seen and is rated 17lb superior to the former on Flat ratings. Gforcejenny is respected on hurdles debut too.

This can go the way of KORINTHIA who looked a nice prospect after winning her first two starts in bumpers last season and is the type to kick-on over hurdles. You’re A Derry Girl is starting to look capable in this sort of company and looks the main threat despite a drop in distance. Two each-way contenders are Boujee and Crossbar Getaway who have both shown ability.

In the form of his life, MEPHISTO can complete a four-timer at the expense of potentially well-handicapped top-weight Mica Malpic and Ballinrobe regular Tomas O Maille.

It’s hard to rule any of these out with a chance taken on FORTUNATE LIGHTING who got firmly back on track when stepped up in trip at Sligo last time, form that’s working out OK, and there should be more to come at this distance. Carried With Love is an obvious threat given she handles this ground, and expect Cooke’s Lass to bounce back, at her preferred sort of trip. Tequila Talkin’ is another live contender with the form of her Wexford success working out well.

Littlebiggie has started her chasing career with two good seconds, but again may find one too good here in chasing debutante MOZZIES SISTER, a much better hurdler and representing a yard which introduced a smart beginners’ chase winner at Galway on Monday.

After a first chase success last time out, MY FRIEND THE WIND is taken to follow up. He may have won that race by further without a late mistake, so a 5lb rise could be on the lenient side. My Good Pal was about to have a say before an unseat on chase debut 18 days ago and could be the main threat. Zolpharine should remain competitive back over the larger obstacles having probably found the ground quick last time and stablemate, The Little Yank caught the eye over timber a week ago.

Having been well backed for his chase debut last time out, METAMORPHEUS could be the way to go. He was in the process of running a big race before coming down, and he ought to go well again with conditions in his favour. Veteran Itsalonglongroad has to be on the shortlist despite a 3lb rise after his gutsy all-the-way win at Tramore last month and another last time out winner, Finnians Row, is considered after his career best at Wexford recently.

The victory of BLUE WATERS (nap) here last month was well franked by the impressive win of the runner-up at Galway on Monday, and she gets the vote over the Willie Mullins’-trained debutante Cast A Cold Eye, a half-sister to last season’s Champion Bumper winner Bambino Fever. Famous Figure and Governors Rock hold place claims, but more interesting could be the debutant Ade Boy, whose trainer Andy Slattery has a strong team of bumper horses.
