Old friends reunite!

Harry Potter alums Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Felton shared a magical reunion on Monday night, while attending the New York City premiere of Merrily We Roll Along, a live capture of the Stephen Sondheim musical production that won Radcliffe his Tony Award.

Video of the event captured the moment when the former costars spotted each other. The sweet interaction sees Felton put a hand on Radcliffe’s back, prompting the actor to turn and immediately pull his old pal into a hug. By this point, the house lights were blinking overhead, pushing attendees into the theater, but Felton and Radcliffe still took a few moments to exchange words.

Afterward, the two actors posed together for photos. The meeting was reminiscent of the last time they publicly crossed paths in 2018: that time too, Felton was attending an event to celebrate the work of his former costar in his Broadway production of The Lifespan of a Fact.

Prior to that, the performers haven’t been photographed since attending the 2011 premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Since then, despite their onscreen rivalry, the duo have always spoken highly of each other. In fact, Felton recently made his Broadway debut — and his return to the Harry Potter franchise — by reprising his role as Draco Malfoy in The Cursed Child.

During a November appearance on Good Morning America, he credited Radcliffe with inspiring him to make the leap into theater.

“I’ve taken a few tips from Potter. He was one of the early inspirations for me to come to Broadway,” Felton said at the time. “I saw him, I think, on his first show — what is it, 10-plus years ago? And now he’s obviously a Tony winner and a big inspiration for the reason why Broadway is so special.”

A few weeks later, Radcliffe told the morning show that he was thrilled to hear about Felton making his Broadway debut.

“It’s crazy. Tom’s older than me, he was always the cool kid growing up. It’s crazy that he would think of me as an inspiration for anything,” he said upon hearing of Felton’s comments. “That’s so sweet. I’m super excited that he’s in this and he’s doing Broadway and he’s doing the show. It’s really lovely. And I’m excited that he’s going to be in the city and I get to see him.”

Soon the former costars will be Broadway neighbors… give or take a few blocks. Radcliffe is making his return to the Great White Way with a role in Every Brilliant Thing, a one-person show that debuts at the Hudson Theatre starting Feb. 21, 2026.
