The fifth annual event was held on Saturday, November 22, at the Salisbury Guildhall and was completely sold out, raising an incredible £8,204 for local mental health charities.
The event was hosted by husband and wife duo, Lucianne and Tony Fitzgerald, who run the Safe Haven Mental Health Project, a newly formed charity in Salisbury that aims to help people suffering with their mental health by offering services, groups and mental health first aid training.
The evening was marked by emotional testimony, heartfelt honesty and a shared commitment to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health.
Thanks to the generosity of all who attended, funds raised from the gala have been donated to Kickstart FC, United Minds Hampshire and the Safe Haven Mental Health Project.
Kickstart FC and United Minds are both causes that help people suffering with their mental health by holding football sessions and support groups.

The night included guest speakers who shared moving personal mental health journeys.
The speakers included Marcus Tisson, founder of Don’t Suffer in Silence, Michael Cunningham, founder of Kickstart FC, Marley Burnett, local market trader, Sergeant John Wood and organiser Lucianne, who shared her incredible story of battling with cancer.
Lucianne said: “The speakers’ stories, raw, powerful and at times heart-wrenching, highlighted both the challenges faced by so many and the life-changing impact of accessible support. The atmosphere throughout the night was one of compassion, strength and community spirit.
“This year’s success is a testament to what our community can achieve when we come together with purpose.
“These vital organisations will use the proceeds to support therapy groups, crisis intervention services and ongoing mental health initiatives that make a real difference in the lives of people across our area.
“A huge thank you to our sponsors Digital 23, who made all of our banners, Crescent Care Portsmouth, Redwatch Security Somerset and Toria’s Book East Midlands.”

Among the guests was actress Lorraine Stanley, who wanted to show her support and in reflection she said: “I was honoured to be a guest at the gala. I shared the night with so many beautiful people who all have a connection with mental health. It was very humbling.”
The event was a powerful night of emotion, and the 2026 Mental Health Awareness Gala will take place on November 21, and tickets will go on sale on March 1 2026.
Lucianne said: “As we look ahead, we are actively seeking local sponsors who share our commitment to supporting mental health. Sponsorship is an opportunity to stand with us in strengthening essential services and promoting hope, resilience and recovery.
“Businesses or individuals interested in partnering with us for the 2026 gala are warmly encouraged to get in touch at Info@safehavenmh.co.uk.
“Together, we can continue to make a meaningful impact, one story, one conversation and one event at a time.”
