Hollyoaks spoilers follow for the latest episode to air on E4 and stream on Channel 4.

Hollyoaks has exposed Lucas Hay’s latest scheme in tonight’s episode, as his plans to manipulate the people around him to keep estranged boyfriend Dillon Ray in his grip continued. Lucas has cloned Dillon’s phone in order to keep track of all of his messages, and got dad Ste drunk when he was afraid that social services would learn the truth about the physical abuse going on at home.

At the start of tonight’s episode, Dillon saw Ste going to Price Slice to buy more booze and told him to stop. He promised that Ste could meet Baby James in secret at 1 o’clock — if he managed to stay sober.

There were some possible spanners in his plan though, as Lucas tried to arrange a meeting between them at the same time. Misbah Maalik had also planned a family trip into town for the baby to meet Santa (Dillon pointed out that Misbah is a Muslim, but she replied that Baby James isn’t).

Dillon and a sober, cleaned-up Ste met in the park, to both their delight. Dillon even proposed that they have more secret meetings until Ste is officially allowed access again.

However, the happy moment was short-lived when Lucas arrived on the scene.

Lucas lied about how he found out about the meeting, while Dillon was furious to learn that Lucas left the booze at Ste’s place.

“Did you leave it intentionally?” he asked his ex. Lucas denied it, but Dillon pointed out that he happily let his dad take the fall for the abuse he inflicted.

After Lucas tried to twist things to get sympathy, Dillon tried to smooth the situation over by saying they could hang out, but they were interrupted by a phone call from Misbah… and both their phones rang.

“Is that a cloning app? Are you spying on me?” Dillon demanded to know, before smashing up Lucas’ phone. “That is stalker behaviour. It’s completely unacceptable. How could you do that?”

Lucas tried to excuse what he’d done, but Dillon called him “selfish and sick” and Ste left him on his own too.

Back home, Lucas spammed Dillon with texts from a new phone. When he blocked the number, Lucas started emailing constantly and calling up the house phone.

Just how far will his unhinged behaviour go?
