“1000-lb Sisters” stars Tammy and Amy Slaton are feuding.
In a new trailer for season 8 of the TLC reality series, Tammy tells cameras that it feels like she and Amy are “drifting apart.”
“She should be my best friend,” Tammy adds.
Elsewhere in the teaser, Tammy and Amy’s brother, Chris Combs, says “every other word” in the family group chat is “an f-bomb” thanks to the sisters’ recent “big blowup” fight.
Chris does his best to mediate, telling Amy that “families are supposed to pull together” no matter what.
“I’m not gonna sit here and have you feed me this bologna when I don’t like bologna,” Amy replies.
Tammy, for her part, tells Chris that “if Amy keeps her mouth shut, so would I.”
Some of the sisters’ tension stems from Amy’s wedding to Brian Lovvorn and unkind comments that Tammy made about Amy’s parenting skills. (Amy shares sons Gage, 5, and Glenn, 3, with ex-husband Michael Halterman.)
“The wedding is in, like, six months. It’s really important for the venue to be haunted because that’s the symbol of our love. My family, they don’t want nothing to do with it, and neither does Queen Tammy,” Amy says sarcastically.
Later in the trailer, it’s revealed that Tammy called Amy “a deadbeat mom.”
“I can’t handle her toxic a– no more. I’m done,” Amy says through tears.

Tammy and Amy have had their ups and downs since “1000-lb Sisters” premiered in 2020. During season 1, the sisters had a combined weight of around 1,000 pounds, with Tammy weighing 608 pounds and Amy weighing 406.
Tammy has lost over 500 pounds over the past several years, while Amy has lost around 200. Tammy also had her loose skin removed, a procedure that was documented on season 7 of “1000-lb Sisters.”
While Tammy and Amy’s relationship is at an impasse right now, the sisters are both moving forward in other areas of their lives. Amy’s October wedding to Lovvorn will be shown on season 8 of “1000-lb Sisters,” as will Tammy’s engagement to Andrea Dalton.
“I’m just kind of starting to figure out what I want to do in life,” Tammy says in the trailer during her first job interview at an animal shelter.
Season 8 of “1000-lb Sisters” premieres on TLC on Jan. 8, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET. Past episodes are available to stream on HBO Max.
